Top Filipino Taekwondo Athletes Gather for the 2026 PTA Manila Best of the Best Championships

The Philippine taekwondo scene is once again gearing up for one of the most anticipated city tournaments of the year as the 2026 PTA Manila Best of the Best Taekwondo Championships takes place on June 7, 2026, at the San Andres Sports Complex.

Expected to draw hundreds of athletes from different PTA chapters and cities, the event promises a full day of exciting competition, high-level performances, and meaningful experiences for every taekwondo jin stepping onto the mats. From young beginners trying competition for the first time to seasoned black belts sharpening their skills, the tournament continues to showcase the depth of talent in Philippine taekwondo.

This year's championships will feature three crowd-favorite events β€” Poomsae, Kyorugi, and Speed Kicking. Fans can expect intense sparring matches, precise and powerful forms demonstrations, and explosive speed-kicking performances that always energize the crowd. Beyond the medals and trophies, tournaments like this play a huge role in developing an athlete's confidence, discipline, composure, and fighting spirit.

For many players, city games are more than just competitions. They serve as an opportunity to test months of training, meet fellow practitioners from other chapters, and experience the true camaraderie that makes the taekwondo community special. Coaches and organizers also see these events as an important stepping stone for athletes preparing for larger regional and national competitions in the future.

With participation capped at 700 athletes, organizers expect slots to fill up quickly. Players are encouraged to coordinate with their coaches and chapter heads as early as possible to secure their entries.

As always, the PTA Manila community continues to prove that taekwondo is not only about winning matches, but also about building character, respect, and unity both inside and outside the competition area.
